HE2B

HIGHER EDUCATION
TO BUSINESS

HEY THERE!

Think of us as your partners in reaching your business goals. Here’s a bit about us to get started…

WHO WE ARE

Twig has established the HE2B program to forge stronger relationships between business and higher education.

We have met with dozens of companies looking to better target some of the $8b currently spent on corporate training and education each year, who find it too hard or expect it to be too expensive to work with universities. We have also worked with universities looking to build enrolments, but only looking as far as selling complete degree programs.

WHAT WE DO

With more than a decade of experience at the interface of business and HE, the Twig team can provide businesses with tailored training programs delivered at cost by universities, enabling clients to achieve their immediate staff development goals without having to pay for a full degree.

We provide universities with opportunities to build enrolments and also insights in relation to the demands of business, with recommendations relevant to student recruitment, course development and industry engagement.

HE2B offers a practical mechanism to contribute to re-shaping the Australian workforce through higher education. provision.

WE CAN HELP YOU

  • Offering new training opportunities to businesses drawing from components within existing HE program offerings
  • Building insights into business needs and forecast demand for training and staff development
  • Providing actionable recommendations to universities and TAFEs in relation to growing enrolments
  • Acting as an extension of a HE institution’s in-house student recruitment team, accessing cohorts of students who you current are not reaching
  • Providing businesses with tailored knowledge maps, identifying qualifications and courses required to address your organisation’s training priorities.

Bringing the BEST of HE2B

As our workforce changes, more and more organisations are looking for ways to upskill workers through relevant, targeted and cost-effective programs.

Universities are the benchmark for quality education programs, but full courses are too long, too expensive and not sufficiently target to meet the needs of most businesses.

That’s why we created HE2B. We:

  • Identify immediate training needs in collaboration with organisations
  • Source high quality training solutions from tertiary institutions
  • Broker an effective, relevant training solution to deliver timely, high quality, relevant and cost-effective training.

Why not go straight to a uni?

We encourage you to go straight to a university first, before you talk to HE2B – because then you will understand first-hand why we exist.

Universities are wonderful institutions. They have been able to offer training to businesses for centuries – but they currently provide only a tiny fraction of the $8 billion Australian organisations currently spend on training annually. Universities are structured to sell rigid course programs, while organisations want rapid targeted training in specific focus areas, that can fill identified knowledge and capacity gaps.

If you want a degree off the shelf, you don’t need HE2B. But if you want a cost-effective training solution tailored to the needs of your workforce now, we are ready to help.

WHO DO WE WORK WITH?

The Twig team that delivers HE2B has worked with more than 30 higher education institutions across Australia and we have an extensive network of contacts across the sector.

We recognise that you will want to choose whether the training is accredited (providing credit towards a qualification) or non-accredited (high quality training, but it doesn’t count towards a qualification). You will want to choose where and when training is delivered, what mix of skills and knowledge are required and what the budget is. The HE2B team will work with you to identify training needs, liaise with providers to let you know what is and isn’t possible, and develop practical, actionable and targeted training proposals to respond to.

We have decades of experience in working with business and with tertiary institutions – and are ready to

WHY WON'T WE HASSLE YOU?

We have a simple approach – we negotiate the best deal we can for you, and if you choose to proceed with the training, we get a commission from the provider. If you don’t go ahead, we don’t get the commission.

For your peace of mind, here’s a secret: pushy sales tactics don’t work in this market. We won’t be forever hassling you, begging you to sign up, because the only way we sustain an effective business is through happy clients.

This is a pretty straightforward proposition. At the moment Australian businesses are spending the vast bulk of their training budgets on lower quality providers. We are working with higher end providers to offer you tailored training, so you don’t lose your staff to huge slabs of time off for study and you do get to start plugging the knowledge and capacity gaps in your business. We will send out the odd newsletter and call up for a chat once or twice a year, but HE2B is a service, not a scam. We know from the hundreds of businesses we have talked to already that the idea sells itself.

HOW DID HE2B START?

Over the past decade, we have seen the need to map business need to university education provision.

Our team have worked in higher education strategy for more than two decades, and also with hundreds of businesses. We recognised the needs of both – and also the massive gap between each of them. We have met with dozens of companies in recent months looking to better target some of the $8b currently spent on corporate training and education each year, who find it too hard or expect it to be too expensive to work with universities. Businesses have indicated that they are concerned about the time and cost of investing in full degrees for staff, but are prepared to invest in discrete units, microcredentials and clusters that address current skills and capacity gaps. Our team can provide businesses with tailored training programs delivered at cost by universities, enabling clients to achieve their immediate staff development goals without having to pay for a full degree or wait years for enrolment processes. We provide universities with opportunities to build enrolments and also insights in relation to the demands of business, with recommendations relevant to student recruitment, course development and industry engagement.
